Dr Stephen Marks
Dr Stephen D Marks, MD MSc MRCP DCH FRCPCH, is a consultant paediatric nephrologist and clinical lead for renal transplantation at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust in London, UK. He is an honorary senior lecturer at University College London Institute of Child Health. His paediatric training commenced in the teaching hospitals of Glasgow (Scotland), Newcastle upon Tyne (England), London (England) and Brisbane (Australia) with paediatric nephrology training in London (England) and Toronto (Canada).
Stephen Marks is an expert panel member on Hypertension at the “Excellence in Paediatrics” conference. He is a member of the multi-disciplinary team of the renovascular service at Great Ormond Street Hospital and undertook a thirty year review of the service, which receives national and international referrals. The team consists of paediatric nephrologists, interventional radiologist and radiographer and transplant and vascular surgeons. The renovascular service has published a seminar in the Lancet as well as investigations and management of children with the outcomes of interventional radiology and surgery. In addition, Stephen Marks leads the largest paediatric renal transplantation programme in UK and one of the largest in the world. His research continues to date in the fields of hypertension, systemic lupus erythematosus, vasculitis and renal transplantation.
Stephen Marks is a member of the European Society for Paediatric Nephrology, International Pediatric Hypertension Association, International Pediatric Nephrology Association and International Pediatric Transplantation Association.
