Prof. Andreas Konstantopoulos

Prof. Andreas Konstantopoulos received paediatric training at the A’ Paediatric Clinic of the University of Athens.
Elected M.D.of the University of Athens.
Received a 5-year fellowship for the TUFTS University of Boston in the US.
Was elected Lecturer at Children’s Hospital “Agia Sofia”.
Was elected Associate Professor of Paediatrics in 1977.
Was elected Full Professor of Paediatrics of the University of Athens.
Became chairman of Children’s Hospital “Aglaia Kyriakou” in 2001.
Organised and launched the paediatric hospital “Children’s IASO” in 2008. Currently is the Chairman of the hospital.
Has published more than 250 scientific articles in Greek Journals and over 150 in English language.
Published in 2006 a two-volume textbook entitled “Clinical Paediatrics” (1617 pages) for paediatricians and medicine students.
Has been invited to speak in numerous medical congresses in Greece and in over 150 events abroad (USA, Japan, Mexico, Europe, China, and Africa).
Holds the position of the President of the Hellenic Paediatric Society (HPS) since 1998.
Represents HPS at CESP/EAP since 1996.
Was elected President of the 25th International Congress of Paediatrics in 2001. The congress was organized in 2007 in Athens, Greece and attracted 6,500 delegates from 135 countries.
Has served as member of many Boards in institutions such as the School of Medicine/University of Athens, Hellenic Pasteur Institute, Children’s Hospital “Agia Sofia”, and more.
Holds the position of the Chairman of the National Committee for Vaccinations of the Ministry of Health since 1998.
Was elected President of the European Paediatric Association (EPA/UNEPSA) in 2007.
Was elected President of the 35th UMEMPS Congress to be organized in 2012 in Greece.
