Dr. Stephen Greene
Dr Stephen Greene qualified from University College Hospital Medical School, London and then pursued a career in Child Health with positions in Oxford, Great Ormond Street, London, the Kinderspital Hospital, Zurich and Guy's Hospital, London. He was appointed as Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist for Tayside in 1987, Senior Lecturer in 1998 and Reader in Child and Adolescent Health, University of Dundee in 2001.
He has a specific research interest in diabetes in the young and was Secretary to the Scottish Study Group for the Care of the Young Diabetic from 1990 to 2000, from which he has continued to direct the DIABAUD Programme. He edited "Diabetes in the Young" the official journal of the International Society of Paediatric and Adolescent Diabetes and delivered an invited lecture at the 2000 IDF meeting.
Current research interests include diabetes technology (insulin pumps; blood glucose monitoring; e-Health support) and the emotional and cultural impact on health and chronic illness of the young.
He is the Tayside Scottish Medicines for Children Research Network Director.
In 2006 he was appointed the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health International Fellow.
