Prof. John Gregory

Professor John Gregory graduated from the University of Dundee and trained in paediatric endocrinology in Sheffield, Dundee and Newcastle upon Tyne. He has a joint appointment with Cardiff University and the National Health Service delivering clinical care for children with endocrine disorders living in South and Mid Wales. His research interests include clinical services for children with diabetes. At present, he is jointly leading 2 large multi-centre studies, one designing and testing a training tool to help clinical staff improve their counselling skills to facilitate behaviour change in youngsters with diabetes (The DEPICTED Trial) and the other assessing whether treatment from diagnosis at home or in hospital produces better outcomes (The DECIDE Trial). He has published nearly 100 papers in these and related areas and written 10 chapters for various endocrine textbooks.
