Prof. John Henderson

Professor John Henderson graduated from the University of Manchester and trained in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine in Bristol, Aberdeen and Perth, Western Australia. He is a practicing clinician at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children with key interests in asthma, bronchoscopy, sleep related breathing disorders and long term domiciliary ventilation of children. He is Professor of Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at the University of Bristol with major research interests in the genetic and environmental determinants of asthma, allergy and respiratory health in children. He is Co-Director of the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC) and leads the respiratory programme within this large, internationally renowned birth cohort study. He was previously Deputy Editor of Archives of Disease in Childhood and, in addition to other contributions, has been chapter editor for Respiratory Disorders in the last two editions of Forfar & Arneil's Textbook of Pediatrics.
