Dr. Paul Ramchandani

Dr Paul Ramchandani BM, MRCPsych, MSc, DPhil trained at Southampton University and worked as a doctor in England and New Zealand before completing post-graduate training in psychiatry in Oxford and an MSc in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He has worked at the University of Oxford since 2001, holding a Medical Research Council Special Training Fellowship in Health Services Research for four years before being awarded a Clinical Fellowship by the Wellcome Trust in 2006. He also works as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.

Dr Ramchandani's main research interests include the early psychological development of children, and in particular examining risks for the later development of psychiatric illness, predominantly anxiety and depression. He is also investigating the role of fathers in their children's early development, including collaborating with large longitudinal studies in Bristol and Soweto, South Africa.
